As I’m in a lockdown amidst the corona virus outbreak, there are only but a few ways to spend time of which reading a good book is most productive in my opinion. My situation (which is no way near hers), did remind me a little of Anne Frank and her days in the secret annex. The diary of Anne Frank is a very aptly titled book as it captures the day to day thoughts, emotions and struggles of being a teenager. The only difference between Anne and any other teenaged girl of today was that she was put in the most impossible and horrifying periods of history. This little diary of Anne’s makes one believe that even a shimmer of hope can keep us going and is a massive source of strength. Anne was stuck in a house for 761 days but was not quarantined like us as her enemy was not a deadly virus, it was in fact the deadliest disease of all, a hateful man with his hateful horde of supporters. The 13 year old had made the unforgivable mistake of being born into a hated religion with dark hair and eyes which was no match to the the blond hair and blue eyes of the superior Aryan race. Even stuck in that house Anne was able to accomplish a lot like celebrate a loving Christmas, find romance and achieve her dream to become a writer. This book is a touching symbol of hope in the darkest of time. A short and sweet book full of emotions which I highly recommend.
Very well described in nutshell. It will be an interesting experience to read it in future.
“Anne was stuck in a house for 761 days but was not quarantined like us as her enemy was not a deadly virus, it was in fact the deadliest disease of all, a hateful man with his hateful horde of supporters.”
These lines show that the nature of society is like a herd of sheep, no matter the difference of time and era.
