In line with global equity market rattling, after WHO declared corona outbreak as ‘pandemic’,

Sharp fall in oil prices in international markets also spooked the investor sentiment across the globe. In Asia, MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 3.2 per cent and touched its lowest level since early 2019, while Japan’s Nikkei crumbled 5.3 per cent. Back home, Sensex plummeted as much as 2,484 points to 33,213.04 and the Nifty 50 index plunged below 9,700. This downfall has eroded the investor’s wealth by about Rs 8,56,689.62 crore.
