Bharatiya Janata Party will announce its Rajya Sabha candidates on Tuesday. The party has called the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting at BJP headquarters at 6 pm on Tuesday. After the meeting, the party will announce the names of the candidates in the 16 seats where it is sure to win. On 26 March, Rajya Sabha elections are to be held for 55 seats in 17 states.

The position of the BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections is going to remain the same. Out of these 55 seats, the party had earlier 15 seats. Now the party hopes to get one seat more. The party is particularly concerned about the electoral state of Bihar. While two of its members CP Singh and RK Sinha are retiring, the party is getting only one seat.

The party has to decide which fraternity to be given ticket from this seat. Of the 55 seats going to polls in 17 states, BJP had 15, BJP’s ally JDU had three, AIADMK had four, Congress had 13, BJD had two and other parties had 18 seats.
