Big win for Delhi Congress; Fuel prices step a foot back

Date:

Two months back, the Delhi Government had increased VAT to 30 percent on Diesel & Petrol. Since then, Delhi Congress was demanding the rollback of hike in VAT.

DPCC President Anil Chaudhary too, wrote several letters to the Delhi government. Even a ‘cycle yatra’ against the fuel price hike was launched.

Anil Kumar Chaudhary had even, reached out to residences of all 10 MPs of Delhi, including 7 Lok Sabha MPs all from the Aam Aadmi Party & requested the MPs to intervene with their respective governments, demanding a reduction in the excise duties and VAT on petrol and diesel, to give relief to the Delhi residents.

The “Cycle Yatra” seemed to have achieved the desired results with this recent rollback of VAT on Diesel. Congress has been consistently highlighting the insensitivity of both the BJP and the AAP governments as a responsible opposition and were acquainted with the fruits. Many Congress leaders to congratulate the people of Delhi for this victory.

The pandemic has been dealt like a gamble by the AAP government; in this helm, if the opposition decides to put forth the concerns of the state fiercely, then that’s a piece of good news for democracy.
