Bangladesh wins its first bilateral series against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh won 3 ODI series by 2-1, Mushfiqur Rahim won the player of the series.

In the first ODI Bangladesh captain, Tamim Iqbal won the toss and opted to bat first. Batting first the team lost Linton Das in the 2nd over, he was caught in slip by Dhananjaya de Silva off Chameera’s delivery. With the slow start, the captain Tamim Iqbal provided much-needed support and scored a half-century before he was trapped LBW when he played a late shot. Later Mushifiqur Rehman 84(87) and Mahmudullah 54(76) provided stable stand and led the home team to a respectable score of 257.

Sri Lanka chasing had a good start with boundaries from Danushaka Gunathilaka before being caught & bowled by Mehidy Hassan. Sei Lankan captain Kusal Perera played a crucial inning but couldn’t contribute more to the scoreboard he was bowled by the right arm spinner, Mehidy Hassan. The Sri Lankan team struggled to move the scores on the scorecard. Wanindu Hasaranga played well and scored 74(60) with fice massives sixes, but his inning was cut short & couldn’t lead Sri Lanka to a winning margin.

In the second ODI, team Bangladesh crushed Sri Lanka with 103 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim played one of the best innings scoring 125 (127) runs, Which provided a solid score of 246 for home team. Apart from Mahmudullah 41(58) rest of the team struggled to provide a stable stand on the wicket. Shri Lanka bowlers had a good performance from Dushmantha Chameera & Lakshan Sandakan picking up three wickets each. In return for the target score of 246, the Sri Lanka team performance has poor performance with the bat, Apart from Danshuka none managed to score more than 20 runs.

In the third ODI Sri Lanka managed to sneak a win against the home team with a massive lead of 97 runs. Finally, captain Kusal Perera had a good inning, after struggling in previous games. He scored 120(122) with 12 boundaries. Dhananjaya de Silva scored a half-century taking the visiting team to 286. The home team lost the top wickets of Naim & Shakib for just 9 runs. Mosaddek Hossain & Mahmudullah scored a half-century each taking Bangladesh to 189.

Winning Captain Tamim Iqbal said that he was happy to be at the end of the winning side. He added that they still need to seriously work on many areas. The score would have been content but there were misfielding & couples of catches were missed. Visting captain Kisal Perera said that the team needed a win badly (after winning the last match) & that’s why he batted in a calculated manner. He praised his team’s bowling and fielding performances. With this win, team Bangladesh reached the top of the World Cup Super League table.
