The Ahmedabad Medical Association has filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court on Thursday. In the petition filed by AMA, it has been appealed that the permission for the corona test be given in 4 to 5 hours. The Gujarat High Court will hear on this matter on Friday.’
According to the government rule in Gujarat, if a patient comes to the hospital for treatment, then he has to get an e-mail from the Chief Deputy Health Officer for his Covid test. Surprisingly, the government machinery takes 4 to 5 days to reply to this email yes or no. This delays treatment of such patients in the local hospital.
In such a situation, if the patients coming to the government hospital are positive in the corona test, then during these five days, they can infect many more people. Not only this, the treating doctor can also get infected by it.
According to the information, the AMA had also submitted a memorandum to the Health Department of the Government of Gujarat in the past. But after not getting any kind of reply, they have now approached the court.
Dr. Mona Desai, President of Ahmedabad Medical Association, says that the doctors have to fill the form for the patient’s Covid-19 test. Which has to be sent to CDHO. Which is answered yes or no based on ICMR guidelines. It takes 4 to 5 days to answer this. If there is an emergency operation, the patient and the doctor are at risk.
