Lockdown 2.0 : Relief in Some States starting Today

To prevent the spread of corona infection, for the first time, nearly four weeks after the lockdown, which took place from March 25, many states including Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are going to provide some relief in certain areas including industry, agriculture, from today, April 20. Although the lockdown will complete on May 3, the government has taken certain steps to give the economy some momentum. Many states have decided not to give any kind of concession to it right now, in view of the new cases of corona infections coming up.

1- Lok Sabha Secretariat will start work in Delhi

The Lok Sabha Secretariat will start functioning from Monday which was closed since last week of March in view of Covid-19. This information has been received from the official order. Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were suspended from March 24 when the functioning of the two houses was indefinitely postponed. The budget session of Parliament was to end on 3 April but its proceedings were adjourned before the scheduled time.

2- Permission for industries to be restored in Green and Orange zones in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that industries in the ‘Green and Orange’ zones, identified in relation to the coronavirus, would be allowed to restore functioning in a controlled manner. In a video message, he also said that industries providing housing facilities to their workers during lockdown would be supplied grain and raw materials would be allowed from the state.

3-Many works will start in Bihar with some relaxation in lockdown, dhabas will be opened on the highway

A number of employment related jobs are going to start in Bihar from April 20 with some relaxation in lockdown, which includes work from MNREGA to government departments. With the commencement of work in all the government offices of the state, work is going to start in all the departments and offices of the state government. The General Administration Department has issued an order in this regard on Friday.

4-CM Yogi left the responsibility of some activities in the districts to the DM in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has left the task of DM to start some activities in the districts during the lockdown. It has also warned that in 19 sensitive districts with corona infection, where 10 or more are infected, the decision should be taken with full caution and caution. These activities include industries, construction work, expressway and highway construction.

5-CM Kejriwal’s order, no relief in Delhi, will be reviewed on April 27

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that the Delhi government has decided that it will not give relief for at least one week in the ongoing lockdown as the spread of coronavirus infection has not stopped in the national capital at present. He said that this decision has been taken with the aim of saving the lives of the people.

6 – Decision on relaxation of restrictions after consideration of committee report in Tamil Nadu

According to an official release, the committee on Monday, will submit report to CM Palaniswami, who, after considering it, will decide whether to relax the restrictions or not. “The restrictions will continue till the government issues orders” the release said.

7-Karnataka government extended coronavirus lockdown till midnight of 21 April

The Karnataka government on Sunday issued new orders to extend the lockdown implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs till midnight on April 21. Sources said that the government is considering exempting the lockdown after April 21 and the state cabinet meeting to be held on Monday.

8-Punjab government will not relax curfew till May 3, only wheat procurement

The Punjab government said on Sunday that it would not give any further relaxation in curfew except the purchase of wheat till May 3. The announcement was made after Chief Minister Amarinder Singh held a meeting with senior officials of the administration and police on the situation arising out of the coronavirus epidemic.
