New Delhi| A 21-day lockdown has been imposed in India to prevent the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic. On the situation, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said on Saturday, that he is not thinking about cricket at this time. Bhajji said that cricket is a ‘very small thing’ in front of the problems that people are facing at the moment.

Harbhajan said, ‘Honestly, cricket has not come in my mind in the last 15 days. Cricket is a very small thing in front of the country today. I will be selfish if I think about IPL and cricket at this time. Our priority should be healthy and fit India. Sports can only happen when we are safe and sound. Cricket is not even in my thoughts.

All sports events in the country and the world have either been canceled or postponed due to the Corona virus. The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also been postponed till 15 April.

The 39-year-old veteran spinner said that he was very concerned about the migrating laborers. According to him, the government should have made some arrangements for those workers before announcing the lockdown.

He said, ‘I think one should have thought about migrant laborers before making the announcement. They do not have a home to live. Food is not available and there is no work to earn. The government should have confirmed that those people get food and get money. And now they wanted to go back home. It was disturbing to see the way the situation was handled.

Harbhajan said, ‘Nobody thought that there would be such a situation that the cities would be closed without notice. Things changed so fast that even the government did not get time to think about it. I think the time has come that we should act wisely for the safety of our citizens. I can understand why people want to return home to their near and dear ones right now.’
