Instant messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out a feature that lets you edit sent text messages. With the help of this feature, users will get the facility to edit the message even after sending it. However, users will be able to edit the message within 15 minutes of sending it. Let us know that this feature was recently released for beta testing for the web version. Now the company has announced its official rollout.
WhatsApp said in a blog post that when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, it can now edit the message it has sent. However, users can change the message only in the first 15 minutes after sending the message. The edited message will display edited with them. That is, the recipient of the message will get the information about the editing of the message, but he will not be able to see the earlier message.
Let us remind that the messaging app allows you to delete already sent messages. The facility to edit the sent message will save the time spent on re-writing the entire message.
This feature of WhatsApp is similar to that of Apple. Apple gave the feature of editing text messages with iOS 16. Apple users have 15 minutes to edit the message. iPhone users can edit a message five times. But WhatsApp has not given any such information at the moment that how many times the message can be edited.
To edit the message, users have to long tap on the message. After this a pop-up option will appear, which includes the option to edit the message. With the help of this option, users will be able to edit the message. Let us know that the new features of WhatsApp will work on both personal chat and group chat. Let us also tell that users will not be able to edit the message after 15 minutes of sending the message.
