The mastermind Sanjay Rai Sherpuria was in touch with some officers of ED’s zonal headquarters in Lucknow. He had contacted a deputy director rank officer to get the case registered against Gaurav Dalmiya over. After getting its clue, the ED STF team has started investigation. There is also an assistant director posted in Lucknow under the scanner.
In fact, Sanjay Rai Sherpuria was arrested for taking Rs 6 crore from industrialist Gaurav Dalmiya. According to the investigating agencies, Gaurav Dalmiya had invested Rs 110 crore through FDI in Wave City, after which a FEMA case was registered at its zonal headquarters in Lucknow.
ED STF has got clues that Sherpuria had also contacted a deputy director posted in Lucknow to end this investigation. Through this, the assistant director who was investigating was also identified. Now ED STF officials are trying to get to the bottom of the matter. If sources are to be believed, both the officers have also been identified.
The deputy directors who came under scrutiny have been mired in controversies in the past as well. Before raiding the premises of a renowned builder in Noida, he was also questioned and answered due to leaking of information. There were also complaints of corruption and months of inaction in several other important investigations. If sources are to be believed, a secret note has also been sent to the CBI for confidential investigation against him.
