Solar Eclipse or Surya Grahan 2019 will be visible today, 2 July across parts of South America and the South Pacific. Skywatchers in Chile and Argentina will be able to witness the eclipse in its entirety. However, people in India will miss the chance of viewing the eclipse as it will occur in the night time at 10:25 PM IST. The eclipse can be viewed live online.
Maximum coverage during the eclipse is likely to occur in the South Pacific, around 1080 km north of Easter Island.
This will be the only total solar eclipse of 2019 and the next one will occur on 14 December 2020. The sad news is like today’s, the eclipse of 14 December 2020 will also be visible only from Chile and Argentina.
