Mumbai metropolis is suffering from rains today after the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy rainfall in Mumbai and its suburbs on Tuesday. The department has advised fishermen not to venture into the high seas on the east coast due to the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Mumbai and the surrounding areas started raining on Monday morning as the monsoon became active over the Arabian Sea.
Apart from this, the Odisha Center of IMD said that a low pressure area is expected to form in the northern Bay of Bengal on Tuesday. This will cause heavy rains in various districts of the state. IMD issued red alert for Mumbai, Thane and North Konkan due to heavy rains
