The Railway Ministry has started preparations to make the Delhi-Varanasi Bullet Train Corridor a priority. The corridor will pass through Noida, Agra and Kanpur. Apart from this, there are 5 more such corridors on which the railway is going to work. This corridor is quite important from political perspective as it is the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited is already looking after the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High-Speed Corridor. It has also been given the work of 865 km Delhi-Varanasi Corridor.
The NHSRCL has to prepare the reports. 6 different routes have been marked for this project. NHSRCL has invited tenders to study the impact of these routes on the environment.
