‘Next Election from Papua Guinea ‘ Yashwant Sinha Attacks Modi, BJP Hits Back

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a foreign trip. During this, when he reached Papua New Guinea, the PM there welcomed him by touching his feet. Regarding this, former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha made a tweet on Monday taunting PM Modi, which was criticized by the BJP.

In fact, Sinha had tweeted that he now plans to contest his next Lok Sabha election from Papua New Guinea on Modi’s ticket, which he hopes to get. BJP’s national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla took a dig at the Congress on this. He said that the Congress wanted him to become the President of India! Think what would have happened if this had happened.

The rhetoric comes when PM Modi was in Papua New Guinea on his maiden visit on Sunday to host an important summit between India and the 14 island nations. Here PM James Marape welcomed PM Modi by touching his feet. At the same time, Papua New Guinea has also honored PM Modi with the Companion of the Order of Loghu, which has been given to very few non-residents of the country so far.

The award was for championing the cause of unity of the Pacific island nations and the cause of the Global South. Marape addressed PM Modi as the leader of the Global South.
