There seems to be no end of trouble for Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal as a lookout notice has been issued against him and his wife Anita to ensure the couple doesn’t leave the country, pending investigations, based on MCA request.
The income tax (IT) department recently summoned him for questioning in an alleged tax evasion case, said the people with knowledge of the matter.
Under Naresh Goyal, Jet Airways went public in 2005 and its shares were subscribed 4.25 times on the opening day. From those glory days to now facing multiple investigative agencies, it has been a long journey for the beleaguered founder.
Since April 2018, Jet Airways shares had fallen 58% and it posted a loss of ₹ 1036 crore.
