Governments across the globe are under huge pressure to disclose correct numbers of Covid19 cases , recoveries & deaths .Right from the beginning of Covid19 pandemic China has been criticized for hiding the actual numbers related to casualties happening due to Covid19. Even Iranian has been criticized for not disclosing the exact casualty figures and downplaying the COVID19 pandemic in their country .But in India it seems that there is mismanagement involved in official numbers being disclosed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. It seems that there is a goof up in official data displayed on Ministry of Health & Family Welfare website and data released by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a press release at Press Information Bureau website.
This is what Ministry of Health & Family Welfare website shows -Data related to Covid19 was updated on 31 March 2020 at 8.30 pm. (https://www.mohfw.gov.in/#)
But in press release by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare published at PIB website on 31 march 2020 at 6:29PM by PIB Delhi the official date of Covid 19 is 1251 confirmed Covid19 cases and 32 deaths reported.
This mismatch of numbers is on display on official government websites . The numbers on Ministry of Health & Family Welfare website was updated on 8.30pm at 31st march 2020 while the latest official numbers on PIB website were posted on 31 MAR 2020 at 6:29PM by PIB Delhi , almost 2 hours before Ministry of Health & Family Welfare website got updated with entirely a different number. Hope they will correct & coordinate on this Covid19 number mismatch. Initially the Covid19 case & casualty updates were published on ICMR websites also but after 27th of March they are being published only on Ministry of Health & Family Welfare website. Meanwhile the Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the media to publish the official government version about developments with respect to Covid-19.
