Patna| Locals of a village in Harsidhi of East Champaran attacked a medical and police team who whent to spread awareness on coronavirus and urge villagers to follow lockdown guidelines and social distancing.
According to SDO Dhirendra Mishra, security personnel and a health manager were injured in the attack.
Reports were received by the administration that people of the village were not following social distancing and lockdown guidelines after which, a police team and a medical team went there to make the people aware about the infection, but soon the situation turned heated. While the administrative team showed some restrain and came out, a health manager and a bodyguard received injuries in the incident.
So far, Bihar has 70 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
