Ensure Free Ration for migrant workers to prevent exodus: Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil to Delhi Govt.

As the Delhi government announced new guidelines to combat the spread of COVID-19,
a large number of migrant workers have already started leaving for their homes, towns and villages – bringing back memories of a similar crisis in March 2020 as there is a possibility of migrant labourers trying to move out of Delhi-NCR fearing a sudden lockdown.

Delhi Congress Incharge & Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil said that the Delhi Government should provide free ration to people without insisting on a ration card as per directions by the Supreme Court in this regard earlier too.

Congress MP also added that Delhi Govt. did mention that such individuals will be given free ration till May but this should be implemented properly on the ground instead of just a formal announcement.
