Earthquake Tremors Felt Again in Kashmir

Today the earth is shaken again in Jammu and Kashmir. Earthquake tremors were felt in Kargil at a magnitude of 4.7. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to the earthquake at 3:37 am. Let me tell you that in recent times, the house of Jammu and Kashmir is shaken. However, there is no news of any loss yet.

Earlier on June 30, earthquake tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir. On the Richter Scale, the Earth was shaken at 8.59 am with an intensity of 4.0. The epicenter of the earthquake was 84 kilometers from Katra.

Earlier three times between June 14 and 16, the land of Jammu and Kashmir was shaken by earthquake. The epicenter of the June 16 earthquake was also 85 kilometers east of Katra and the intensity was measured at 3.9.

On June 16 itself, there was an earthquake of moderate intensity at 7 am. The Richter scale measured 5.8. Officials had said that the epicenter of the earthquake in the morning was in the Tajikistan region and its depth was 100 kilometers within the Earth’s surface.

Why Kashmir is Prone to Earthquake?

From the point of view of earthquake, Kashmir is located in an area where there is a great possibility of earthquake. In the past too, earthquake has wreaked havoc in Kashmir. On October 8, 2005, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale killed more than 80,000 people on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
