Amarinder Singh Objects Over Attempt to Convert Lahore Gurudwara

Chandigarh | Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has reacted to the attempt to convert the historic gurdwara ‘Shaheedi Sthal’ in Naulakha Bazar, Lahore into a mosque. He condemned the attempt and called it wrong. He requested Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to convey the response of Punjab Government to Pakistan and asked them to ensure the safety of all religious places related to Sikhs in Pakistan.

Bhai Taru Singh was martyred in 1745 in this historic gurudwara. Bhai Taru Singh, born around 1720 in Amritsar, was killed at this place for not accepting Islam. It is very sacred and a place of faith for the followers of Sikhism.
