In a startling revelation, a Congress leader from the Executive body of Education cell of West Bengal Bengal Congress has accused TMC Youth President Saayoni Ghosh of cheating him.
Soumak Palit, the Congress leader has claimed that Saayoni Ghosh had taken his help in some economic research work. However, it is alleged that ever since she became Youth President of TMC, she apparently started avoiding his calls and messages from him. Soumak Palit has claimed that he tried to contact her several times asking if she will be providing any monetary compensation for the services he provided as a researcher. But all his attempts at contacting her went futile.
The issue started when the TMC leader while preparing to fight from the Asansol constituency during the 2021 Vidhan Sabha elections had approached Soumak Palit for providing a report on the economic development work that was done by Mamata Banerjee govt. After agreeing to work for her, Saayoni Ghosh subsequently added her to the Asansol Research group tasked with providing data points to fight the election.
Soumak Palit who is now in Congress has shown proof of doing the necessary work that was asked of him. Several WhatsApp messages and audio recordings have come to light showing how the TMC leader was appreciating the work being done by him.
However, after the elections, Saayoni Ghosh apparently forgot to keep contact with the professionals she hired. Soumak Palit has alleged that after repeatedly trying to contact Saayoni Ghosh, she blocked him making clear her intention to not make any payment.
Saayoni Ghosh, 28 has risen quickly through the ranks and is considered close to TMC MP Abhishek Bannerjee. Soumak Palit who is now in Congress has vowed to take strict action against her for the breach of faith and suffering he has been subjected to. This could prove damaging for the TMC for having a senior leader accused of defrauding her own men who worked for her.
